GOLF CHANNEL PGA TOUR Announce New Program with Stanford Financial Group

1/8/2007

Memphis, TN (January 8, 2007) – Stanford Financial Group is joining with the GOLF CHANNEL and the PGA TOUR on a charitable investment program that provides a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® for every eagle made on the PGA TOUR in 2007. The Eagles for St. Jude program calls for Stanford to make a donation - in the name of the player - for every eagle made on the TOUR. The program will be promoted throughout the year with updates and weekly donation recaps by the GOLFCHANNEL, the exclusive media partner of Eagles for St. Jude.

Stanford is the new title sponsor of the Stanford St. Jude Championship, set for June 4-10 at TPC Southwind in Memphis. Eagles for St. Jude was developed to expand and highlight the alliance between Stanford and St. Jude and provide an ongoing charitable investment to help the premier pediatric cancer research center find cures and save children from around the world. Stanford, whose brand identity includes an eagle as part of its corporate logo, has named St. Jude as its global charity of choice.

According to R. Allen Stanford, Chairman and CEO of Stanford Financial Group, the program is another way to help the children of St. Jude. "Our tournament is the only one on the PGA TOUR in which the name of the benefiting charity is part of the tournament name. That's because St. Jude is the most important element of the tournament, and as such, we think it's important that it has top billing along with the title sponsor. Eagles for St. Jude is a way for us to provide additional and ongoing recognition for St. Jude as well as increase our charitable donation to this worthy cause. I've seen the results that St. Jude achieves - I've seen the smiles on these children's faces, and it's for these reasons that our company is honored to sponsor this program," said Stanford.

David Manougian, CEO of the GOLF CHANNEL, said the program reminds viewers of the connection between Stanford, St. Jude and the PGA TOUR. "We're delighted to join with Stanford in promoting Eagles for St. Jude. Golfers - both professionals and amateurs - tend to be philanthropic and charitable-minded in their own right. This program reminds us all what's really important, and if the increased exposure and investment to St. Jude helps save even one more precious life, then we can all be proud to be part of it."

"We couldn't be more pleased with what this program will mean to St. Jude," said John P. Moses, CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude. "This will bring us consistent and ongoing exposure with the GOLF CHANNEL audience, which, in and of itself, is huge. Combine that with the increased financial donation from Stanford - in honor of the golf professionals who make the eagles - and it's a wonderfully unique and mutually beneficial program. We are deeply grateful for Stanford's commitment to St. Jude and its innovative approach to provide promotional and financial assistance so that we can continue our groundbreaking research and life-saving care," Moses said.
